1. Who we are
The Middle Pin is run by GEM Peak Ventures LLC in Colorado ("tMP", "we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use themiddlepin.com, the tMP app, course websites built on tMP, and course registers. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
When you buy from or join a course, that course also receives your information and uses it under its own policies. For a course's member and customer records, we act on the course's behalf (see section 5).
2. What we collect
From golfers and members
- Account details: name, email, phone, password, and your Google sign-in if you use it.
- Memberships and cards: the courses you belong to, your plan, your tMP card, and your register PIN (stored scrambled).
- Purchases and payments: orders, tee times, event entries, charge-account activity and balances. Your full card and bank numbers are held by Stripe; we see only the type, last four digits and expiry.
- Golf activity: rounds, scores, handicap information, tournament results, courses played, and My Golf Journey pins with the weather on those days.
- Profile and friends: photo, the courses you love or want to play, friends you invite (their email), and Venmo or Cash App handles you add.
- Friends' tab: entries you and a friend record about who owes whom.
- Messages: what you send through a course's chat.
- Location: only when you allow it, to show where you are on a map. We don't track your location in the background.
From course owners, staff and pros
Name, contact details, role, business details, sign-in activity, the Stripe account you connect (business name, tax ID and address, as Stripe shares them), connected social accounts, and your conversations with our AI agents.
About businesses we'd like to work with
Our sales records hold public business information about golf courses, such as name, address, phone, website and published staff contacts, drawn from industry surveys and course websites. If you work at a course and want your details corrected or removed, email us.
Automatically
Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and whether a business email we sent was opened (section 7).
3. How we use it
- To run the Service: accounts, cards, purchases, memberships, charge accounts, events, scores and receipts.
- To send email on a course's behalf, such as receipts, renewal and draft notices, event pairings and invitations.
- To connect you with friends you choose, and show them only what you've chosen to share.
- To power AI features. For example, a course's assistant may draft a reply to your message, and Mac may suggest that a social-media commenter is one of the course's members. A person at the course reviews these, and each look at a named person is logged.
- To contact golf businesses about tMP. Every such email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, meet legal duties, and fix problems.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
| Who | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| The course or business you deal with | They are your merchant or club | Your details, purchases, membership and activity with them |
| Course websites built on tMP | So the site can greet you after sign-in | First name, membership status and plan |
| Stripe | Payments, payouts and identity checks | Payment and business details |
| Anthropic | The AI model behind our agents | Only the text the agent needs for that task |
| ElevenLabs | Voice narration of course stories | Story text only |
| Sign-in, email delivery, Business Profile posting | Your email for sign-in; messages we send | |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Posting for courses that connect | The post content |
| Telegram | Delivers chat messages to the course owner's phone | The message and your first name |
| Map and weather services (OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap, MapTiler, Mapbox, USGS, Open-Meteo) | Maps, satellite images and weather | Map coordinates only, never your name |
| Our web host | Stores the Service | Everything we hold, kept securely |
| Authorities or others | When the law requires it, or to protect people or the Service | Only what is required |
| A buyer of tMP | If the business is sold | Under this same policy |
5. When we act for a course
A course's member lists, customer records and orders belong to the course. We process them only to provide the Service to that course, under its instructions and this policy. If you want to see, fix or delete what a course holds about you, ask the course, or ask us and we will pass it on.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. When you close it, we delete or anonymise it within 90 days. We keep order, payment and tax records as long as the law requires, usually seven years. Unused business accounts are closed after 90 days of no activity and deleted after a further 90 days (Course Terms section 12). Stories recorded as audio are kept until the course removes them.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies, all our own. They keep you signed in, remember which course's store you're in, hold a friend invitation while you sign up, remember who you are when you post a score by scanning a code (one year), and greet you by name on a course's website (60 days). We don't use advertising cookies or sell tracking data. Emails we send to golf businesses, including their signup and welcome emails, contain a tiny image that tells us if the email was opened. We do not put that image in any email to golfers.
8. Your choices and rights
- See, correct or download your information: most is in My Account; for the rest, email us.
- Delete your account: email us (and in the app when available).
- Sharing: your Golf Journey is private until you share it; you can change that at any time.
- Location, camera and notifications: only when you allow them, and you can turn them off in your phone's settings.
- Marketing email: unsubscribe with one click.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as knowing what we hold or appealing a decision we make on your request. Email kevin@themiddlepin.com and we will respond within 45 days.
9. Security
We encrypt connections, store passwords and PINs scrambled, seal connection tokens, limit each person and agent to what their role allows, and log changes. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
The Service is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
11. Where data is kept
The Service is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.
12. Changes and contact
We will post changes here and tell you by email or in the app before material changes take effect. Questions or requests: kevin@themiddlepin.com, or The Middle Pin, PO Box 756 Breckenridge, CO 80424, Breckenridge, Colorado.
